What are the hours of the program?

Our Child Care Centres are open Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Our School Age Before and After Programs open at 7:00 a.m. until school starts and after school until 6:00 p.m.

Is there a family discount?

A discount may also for full time school age children with 2 or more children in the same family, speak to the location’s supervisor for more details.

What is the ratio?
  • Infants 1:3
  • Toddler 1:5
  • Preschool 1:8
  • Before & After School: Kindergarten 1:13
  • Before & After School: Grade 1 and up- to 12 years is 1:15
Is there a registration fee?

A non refundable “one time” registration fee of $50.00 is due upon confirmation of space. The $50.00 fee permits movement from one program or location to another, covers all children within a family.

Has York Professional Care & Education (YPCE) applied for CWELCC funding?

We have applied and been accepted into the CWELCC System in York Region and Simcoe County.

What if I wish to withdraw my child?

We require a minimum of two weeks’ written notice, in advance, when your child is being withdrawn from a program.

What food do your programs provide?

It is our goal that the children develop healthy life long eating habits. Weekly menus are posted in the Centre and in the Home.
A morning and afternoon snack is provided for all children including those attending Nursery School and Before and After School Kids’ Clubs.

Our Programs do not serve nut products but we will not be responsible for food served that may contain traces of nuts as indicated on the packaging.
Our school age children are required to bring a peanut and WOW Butter free “boomerang” lunch with an ice pack on Professional Activity Days and during Winter/March Breaks and for Summer Camp.

Can I bring my own food to the program?

PA Days and school breaks are exceptions for only school age children.

Do you offer temporary care/emergency care?

We would be happy to provide emergency care if space is available in our programs and we have the necessary “paper work” from you.

Will you accept a child who is not toilet trained?

We will work with you on toilet training your child, please have a conversation with your child’s teacher so we can provide consistency around the “training” process.  Parents are required to provide diapers/pull-ups for their child.

Do you offer summer camp?

We offer three camps to meet the age and interests of your child.

Adventure Camp – day camp for ages SK – 12 years old

Hidden Bay Leadership Camp – overnight and day camp for ages 6 -16 years old

Exploration Summer Camp – for ages 4 to 12 years old (located in selected schools in Simcoe County and York Region)

We encourage tours of our locations.  This gives parents an opportunity to see what the children are learning and how the staff interact with each child.
