Dear families,

YPCE has now been enrolled in the Canada Wide Early Learning Childcare – CWELCC system for the County of Simcoe. Family fees are in the process of being reduced according to the timeline proposed by the government. Credits to families in the County of Simcoe will be processed beginning December 2022.

Please be reminded that as of November 1, 2022, YPCE has discontinued to offer the 10% family discount, to all families with eligible children.

Dear families,

YPCE is enrolled in the Canada Wide Early Learning Childcare – CWELCC system in the Region of York and we are awaiting approval and funding from the County of Simcoe. In York Region, family fees are in the process of being reduced according to the timeline proposed by the government. Credits and refunds to families in the County of Simcoe will be processed upon receipt of funding and within the proposed timelines. 

Please be advised that as of November 1, 2022, YPCE will discontinue to offer the 10% percent family discount, to all families with eligible children. In the Region of York, the school age discount will still apply to families where two or more children are enrolled fulltime (5days), in both the before and after school program, and who do not qualify for CWELCC.

Re: Fee Credits/Refunds Under the Canada Wide Early Learning Child Care Funding – CWELCC

Dear Families

On October 11, 2022, YPCE received funding for the CWELCC program for all eligible children under the age of six (6) years, in York Region. The CWELCC funding will reduce the childcare fees of eligible children in York Region by an average of 25%.

Families with eligible children and who are currently enrolled with YPCE programs; will see a credit on their account and applied to the next billing period.

For families who had eligible children but are no longer enrolled with YPCE; an email shall be sent out advising that their refund will be processed to their bank accounts that we have on file.

As per Ontario’s schedule to lower fees, families will see:

  1. Fees reduced up to 25% to a minimum of $12.00 per day retroactive to April 1, 2022.
  2. Fees reduced up to 50% by the end of 2022.
  3. Final reductions culminating to an average of $10.00 per day by September 2025.

Credits/refunds to families with eligible children will be completed within the 20 days of receiving funding.

YPCE programs that service eligible children remind families that:

  • Fees are partially funded by CWELCC in addition to regional incentives intended to lower childcare fees for families.
  • CWELCC is administrated by Regional Municipalities who have the right to access the records of families benefiting from funding.
  • Families shall be responsible for 100% of their fee should CWELCC funding be discontinued.

Re: Canada Wide Early Learning Child Care Funding – CWELCC

Dear Families,

As of April 1, 2022, the Canada Wide Early Learning Child Care Funding – CWELCC system came into effect. CWELCC funding will reduce the childcare fees of eligible children to an average cost of $10.00 per day by September 2025. Eligible children are any children who are under the age of six (6) years. Specifically:

  • Any child, until the last day of the month in which the child turns six (6) years old – irrespective of the type of licensed child care program in which they are enrolled and;
  • and up until June 30 in a calendar year,
    • any children who turn six (6) years old between January 1 and June 30 in that calendar year,
    • and is enrolled in a licensed infant, toddler, preschool or kindergarten group, a licensed family age group, or home child care, as defined in the CCEYA.

With the best interest of families in mind; YPCE has successfully opted in to CWELCC in York Region and is in the process of applying in The County of Simcoe.  YPCE programs that service eligible children remind families that:

  • Fees are partially funded by CWELCC in addition to regional incentives intended to lower childcare fees for families.
  • CWELCC is administrated by Regional Municipalities who have the right to access the records of families benefiting from funding.
  • Families shall be responsible for 100% of their fee should CWELCC funding be discontinued.

In addition to our Terms of Business; under the Canada Wide Early Learning Child Care Funding – CWELCC families with eligible children shall see credits/refunds within 20 days of YPCE receiving funding.

Dear families,

As we continue to navigate through the pandemic; please be advised that effective May 1, 2022, York Professional Care and Education will cease to offer refunds for absence due to COVID-19. Should a staffing shortage present itself and cause a centre closure; a refund will be offered for the time period of the closure.

Dear Families,

York Professional Care & Education has always prided itself on the standard and quality of care and educational programs offered to our families. Further to the announcement made by Minister Lecce on March 28, 2022, please find his address to all Ontario families HERE.

At this time, our Agency is collecting more information to best assess how the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care System will impact our families and educators.
