At York Professional Care & Education (YCPE), our Kindergarten program provides a seamless extension of the school day in a club-like, outdoor-focused environment. Children are supported as capable learners while exploring their interests through meaningful experiences connected to the land and natural world.

Educators build on learning from the school day by offering hands-on, nature-based activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving. Outdoor spaces act as a third teacher, supporting physical movement, collaboration, and discovery.

We foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing atmosphere where children feel a sense of belonging and are encouraged to develop independence, kindness, and respect for others.

YPCE’s Primary/Junior program supports children in building leadership, confidence, and social skills through an engaging outdoor learning approach. Children are encouraged to share ideas, collaborate with peers, and explore interests in ways that are meaningful to them.

The natural environment is an important part of each day, offering opportunities for outdoor play, group games, physical movement, and land-based learning. These experiences promote resilience, responsibility, and a strong connection to nature.

Educators create a respectful and inclusive environment that balances active outdoor experiences with quieter moments, including a homework club, to support each child’s individual needs.
